Camp Otterdale is owned and directed by Jeff and Sue Brown. They reside in Perth, Ontario where they maintain the winter camp office. Susan and Jeff are parents of two sons, Evan and Joel.
Jeff has been involved in camping throughout his life. He began at Camp Kawabi where he developed from a young camper to a senior staff member. He also worked as the Program Director of Camp Kandalore and as the Assistant Director at Camp Otterdale before he and Susan took over as owner/directors in 1996. Jeff’s background includes experience as a school teacher in Saskatchewan and Ontario where he taught grades six through twelve. Jeff also served in the Canadian Navy as a Mars Officer and Clearance Diving Officer. He held a variety of positions at sea and served as the Officer-in-Command of a diving vessel and later as the Executive Officer at the Fleet Diving Unit (Pacific). During his final posting he worked as an Exchange Officer with the United States Navy in Indian Head, Maryland.
Sue is a Registered Nurse who has worked in the areas of Emergency, Cardiac Care, Psychiatry and most recently as a Private School Nurse. At Camp Otterdale she manages the camp office, oversees the Health Centre, and co-ordinates the food services.

Camp Otterdale has a large waterfront and about 200 acres of mixed forest and open fields. Camper cabins are nestled at the north end of camp along with a Health Centre, outhouses, showers, and the dining hall (Harrison Hall).
The biking trails and camp farm are located at the south end of camp among a forest of red pine.Camp Otterdale owns 23 acres across the bay from camp (for water-skiing ) and 110 acres adjacent to the camp for biking, hiking, camp-outs and maple syrup production
We water ski and wake board across the bay from the main waterfront. Throughout the camp property there are hiking and bike trails, camp-out sites and our sugar bush.
Maple Key Day Camp is a unique camp community that strives to help the next generation to become more confident and socially aware. By providing campers with the opportunity to choose some of the activities they participate in while building a tight-knit, family-style community. MKDC helps campers practice healthy independence as well as social skills. MKDC is owned and operated by a certified and experienced teacher with significant camp background, and offers a range of both traditional activities and specialty programming. Introduce your child to a warm, bully-free culture, wrapped in a beautiful natural setting. This is summer camp the way nature intended.
Neighbourhood Daycare and Drop-in Centre is dedicated to providing a warm and inviting atmosphere that allows children to develop at their own pace. We believe that children need to have a positive self-image. We foster that image, along with their developmental growth in the areas of intellectual, social, physical, and emotional skills, through a variety of group activities , individual play, and quiet periods. Our program makes use of many play and learning materials that help the children gain confidence in their abilities to do and make things.
Open Doors for Lanark Children and Youth is the accredited child and youth mental health center delivering service throughout Lanark County. Our staff members are highly trained professionals in the fields of family therapy, child and youth counselling and early childhood education. Professionalism is assured as each staff is a member of a regulatory college including Ontario College of Social Work and Social Services, and the Ontario College of Psychotherapists. Each staff member is dedicated to improving the mental health and well being of children, youth and families. When necessary, we arrange for consultation with other mental health professionals in other organizations to secure the most appropriate services to assist children and youth to be healthy. We believe that each child, youth and parent/guardian possesses the strengths and resources to be successful.
