Trans Canada Pipeline

The Rideau Environmental Action League’s information session “Why Should We Care about Energy East?” has been rescheduled. It centres on the proposed TransCanada pipeline that will pass through our region, near Kemptville and Stittsville, under the Mississippi and Rideau Rivers. The session allows the public to learn more about the environmental effects, the approvals process and the pipeline’s place in Canada future. The information session will be held Wednesday April 2 at the Station Theatre, 53 Victoria Avenue, Smiths Falls. Three speakers will share their insights and a question period will follow. Mills Community Support Seeking Board Members

Mills Community Support is seeking new board members. They provide support and services to over 1000 people living in Lanark County and Smiths Falls with the help of over 150 employees and 200+ volunteers, in the areas of Developmental Service, Seniors Service, Housing and Community Development. Mill’s board members meet monthly to review performance of the CEO and the organization against the organization’s strategic plan while generating new opportunities  for consideration in future plans.
