Fall Hydrant Flushing 26/09/13 The Works & Utilities Department will be conducting their annual FALL HYDRANT MAINTENCE PROGRAM along with HYDRANT FLUSHING during the weeks of: September 30th to October 4th October 7th to October 11th October 14th to October 18th This routine maintenance program will occur between the hours of 07:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It may result in some temporary minor inconveniences; such as discoloured water or loss of pressure. County Fair Mall Events

Up Coming Chamber of Commerce Networking Session

Following a successful networking session on Friday September 13 ,2013 at the beautiful home of John and Maria Maloney owners of The Rideau Winery, we have endeavored to scheudule networking sessions  each month. The October session will be a breakfast event  hosted by the Railway Museum at 7:30 am on October 22, 2013. Pancakes will be served for breakfast and participants will enjoy some interesting games to learn about the railway. The curator will also be on hand to inform the members what is happening in the 2014 season at the Railway Musuem.

  Media Advisory       On Tuesday, October 1st, 2013, over 40 CARP Chapters across Canada  will be raising their respective flags in honor of National Seniors Day  and United Nations International Day of Older Persons. Ministry Of Labor To Conduct Employment Standards Retail Services BLITZ!

MINISTRY OF LABOUR TO CONDUCT EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS RETAIL SERVICES BLITZ!!!! From October to December 2013, the Ministry of Labour will conduct an employment standards blitz focusing on retail services. Examples of businesses that would be included in the blitz are: Gas stations Convenience stores Grocery stores Outlet stores Stores located in shopping malls and strip malls These inspections will focus on employment standards related to public holidays, vacation pay, hours of work, overtime, and the posting of the mandatory “What You Should Know About the Employment Standards Act, 2000,” poster.
